Interior Decorating and Home Staging

Quick Tip Thursday

Hello Readers!

Things have been blessedly busy around here for me and hubby :-)  We’re continuing working on our new house and yard,  keeping up with our businesses, etc.

But today since it’s Thursday and because I’ve got a whole bunch of things on my plate, I’m going to give you a very, very quick tip.

Half-Bathroom Decorating

Let’s continue on the tour of our new-to-us home!

This morning before we head out for our day, I’m going to show you another room we just completed. …the cute, little and very functional half bath off our master bedroom which you can see here if you missed the bedroom post.

A half bath is small by nature but they can be fun to decorate too! You need to choose your accessories wisely because there’s no room for extra stuff :-)

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter! We had a sunny day but the wind was horrific! Still, we didn’t get blown away so I’m here doing another post ;-)

The other day I posted about how just changing the color of our front door’s interior made a huge difference in the entire living room. Well that red front door wasn’t working very well for the exterior either!

Something was just…not…right in our new living room, no matter how hard I tried to decorate it!  I realized that some things are going to have to stay “as is” for awhile (like the paint on the walls) but there had to be something  I could do to make it better, right? The work I do for most of my clients is redesign (using what you already have and giving it new life).  And our house is no different. I’m working with most of our old things but infusing a few new things here and there and/or transposing accessories from where I’d used them in our former house to different rooms here.

Quick Tip Thursday

We have off white furniture; crisp white bedding; pale colored carpeting…and we have two dogs!  Tucker, our little 3-year old doxi-pekeapoo does not shed. He has amazingly funny character, unusual nearly speaking sounds and loves to dance!

Hey gang! Ever have one of those days (weeks, months?) when you feel you just need to know what the answer to a question is?  You’ll dig and dig until you get that answer? Well that was me as I started decorating our new house.  I knew I was going to keep a lot of our former cottage furnishings but the new house had a definite modern vibe to it that I also liked.

Hi again!

If you saw my earlier post today of our master bedroom, I thought you might be interested in seeing what it looks like in the warm afternoon sunshine!  To me, it’s literally swoon-worthy :-) Of course I am solar powered so all that sunshine is crucial to my well-being.  LOL!

I think this rooms "glows" in the sunlight!

See how the afternoon light warms up the dresser area?

That’s it for this little update! Just wanted to give you a little sunshine :-)

Until next time,

Connie

Hi,

Continuing on with the tour of our new-to-us house, today’s post will be showing the master bedroom.

There are times when we all think we want something new…and there are times when we know we want to keep what we had before when it comes to decorating. With our master bedroom, I knew I wanted to keep things pretty much “as is” (or should I say “as was”) for our bedroom.  I liked what I’d done on our former home so decided to more or less “recreate” it here. :-)

I admit: I LOVE white!

Oh I know, I know! Many of you out there are thinking ” Is she totally nuts! An all white room …with two dogs!?!? She must be planning on hiring a professional, daily cleaning company to keep it clean!”  Yeah, well…as they say “In a perfect world…..” ;-)
